Our organization is unique in bringing together the worlds of reflective practice and
thoughtful scholarship. The Society consists of over 3,000 members representing a
kaleidoscope of backgrounds and perspectives from more than 80 different countries.
Membership, composed of academics, business practitioners, and consultants,
focuses on the development and dissemination of insights on the strategic management
process, as well as on fostering contacts and interchange around the world.
Throughout the year, SMS provides opportunities for members to engage through additional content and activities as a benefit of their membership.
Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal Special Issue Open Call: Catalyzing Change and Innovation in Women's Entrepreneurship
This special issue intends to focus attention on the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and gender. We aim to stimulate scholarly conversations on how women entrepreneurs enact innovation through new products, processes, business models, and organizational practices. Interested authors should read the Full Call and submit their research from October 15, 2020, to November 15, 2020.

Global Strategy Journal Special Issue Open Call: Complexity and Multinationals
In this Special Issue of the Global Strategy Journal, we seek to revisit the question of complexity and organization, with a focus on multinational corporations (MNCs). Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal Special Issue Open Call: Reframing Social Entrepreneurship Research: Embracing a Strategic Perspective
The purpose of this special issue is to study social entrepreneurship at a critical juncture in the development of this area of inquiry. To accomplish this purpose, we seek to attract research on social entrepreneurship that extends, develops, and/or tests theory in ways that will help frame ongoing research and serve as a critical input for practical and policy decisions. Research Funding
The promotion and encouragement of research and scholarship is another of SMS’ primary purposes. In support of this goal, the Society operates the Strategy Research Foundation (SRF) programs to award research grants to individuals or groups identified through a competitive application and review process.
